What We Collect
- Contact Info: To send those friendly reminders (email/phone).
- Transaction Data: Amounts, dates, and "what it's for" notes.
- Verification Evidence: If you use Pro features, we store the payment screenshots you upload for OCR verification.
How We Use It
- To create, manage, and deliver your agreement records.
- To send reminders, confirmations, and service notifications.
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and support users.
How We Protect It
- We use industry-standard encryption (AES-256) for all data at rest and in transit.
- We do not sell your personal financial data to third-party advertisers.
- Your "Pact Score" is internal to our platform; we do not share it with credit bureaus unless you explicitly request a credit-building integration.
Your Rights
- You can delete your account and all associated agreements at any time. "Forgotten" means forgotten.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Pacterms (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Telnyx, Anthropic), under data-processing agreements, and only as necessary to deliver the service. We share with authorities when required by law.
AI Processing: Pacterms uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate agreement content. Text you submit is processed by Anthropic's API under their data policies. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models by default.
SMS Messaging
Required for compliance with US carrier regulations (CTIA guidelines, A2P 10DLC).
How we collect phone numbers and consent
Phone numbers are entered into Pacterms by registered users (freelancers and marketplace sellers) for the purpose of sending agreement notifications to people they have a pre-existing business relationship with.
The recipient receives a single transactional notification SMS with a secure link to review the agreement. Before any further SMS messages are sent, the recipient must explicitly opt in by checking a consent checkbox on the agreement review page. The exact consent language shown is:
“I agree to receive SMS notifications from Pacterms about this agreement, including confirmation, payment reminders, and updates. Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per agreement). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.”
Pacterms logs each opt-in with timestamp, IP address, and user-agent as a verifiable consent record. Recipients can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP, which is processed immediately.
Pacterms is the sender of record for all SMS messages. The platform user’s name appears as context (e.g., “Pacterms: Andrew Kimble has sent you an agreement…”) but Pacterms is the registered sender for all compliance purposes, including opt-out management and TCR brand registration.
You can also subscribe to Pacterms SMS notifications directly at pacterms.com/sms-signup.
How we use phone numbers
We use phone numbers only to send:
- Agreement confirmation links
- Agreement acceptance confirmations
- Payment reminders and invoice notifications
- Account security messages (e.g., one-time passcodes)
No third-party sharing
Pacterms does not share, sell, rent, or lease mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Opt-out
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, or END to any Pacterms SMS to stop all messages. Opt-outs are processed immediately by our SMS provider (Telnyx). To resubscribe, reply START or UNSTOP.

Reply HELP to any SMS for assistance, or email support@pacterms.com.
