How We Protect It
- We use industry-standard encryption (AES-256) for all data at rest and in transit.
- We do not sell your personal financial data to third-party advertisers.
Your Rights
- You can request deletion of your account at any time. We delete or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal, contractual, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, and records-retention obligations. Where those obligations apply, we retain the minimum necessary information for the applicable period. We keep records for at least seven years, and longer where a legal hold or your agreement requires it. Released legal text and the record of which version governed contain no personal information and are kept indefinitely.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Pacterms (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Telnyx, Anthropic), under data-processing agreements, and only as necessary to deliver the service. We share with authorities when required by law.
AI Processing: One AI provider receives what you or a visitor type: Anthropic, through its Claude API. It receives two things. On our website, the messages a visitor sends our assistant, Pax, to write the reply. And inside your account, the messages you send Pax and the account details it reads to answer you, such as your name and the clients and amounts listed in your notifications, and a short summary of a conversation when you clear it. No other AI provider receives text or files from you or a visitor. Anthropic processes them under its data policies and does not use API inputs to train models by default.

How we collect phone numbers and consent
Phone numbers are entered into Pacterms by registered users — businesses and individuals creating agreements for project-based work — for the purpose of sending agreement notifications to people they have a pre-existing business relationship with.
The recipient receives a single transactional notification SMS with a secure link to review the agreement. Before any further SMS messages are sent, the recipient must explicitly opt in by checking a consent checkbox on the agreement review page. The exact consent language shown is:
“I agree to receive SMS notifications from Pacterms about this agreement, including confirmation, payment reminders, and updates. Message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages per agreement). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe.”
Pacterms logs each opt-in with timestamp, IP address, and user-agent as a verifiable consent record. Recipients can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP, which is processed immediately.
Pacterms is the sender of record for all SMS messages. The platform user’s name appears as context (e.g., “Pacterms: Andrew Kimble has sent you an agreement…”) but Pacterms is the registered sender for all compliance purposes, including opt-out management and TCR brand registration.

How we use phone numbers
We use phone numbers only to send:
- Agreement confirmation links
- Agreement acceptance confirmations
- Payment reminders and invoice notifications
- Account security messages (e.g., one-time passcodes)
No third-party sharing
Pacterms does not share, sell, rent, or lease mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Opt-out
Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, or END to any Pacterms SMS to stop all messages. Opt-outs are processed immediately by our SMS provider (Telnyx). To resubscribe, reply START or UNSTOP.
